CME & MOC ACCREDITATION AND DESIGNATION

The Cardiovascular Research Foundation is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians and by the American Board of Internal Medicine to provide Maintenance of Certification (MOC) points. The Cardiovascular Research Foundation designates this live activity for a maximum of 2.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Documentation of awarded credit is provided for registered attendees who complete the activity evaluation on the CRF events app or online at cme.crf.org. Certificates of attendance are available to all registered attendees. Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program: Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. LEARNING OBJECTIVES

By the end of this program, participants should be able to:
  • Describe gender disparities in healthcare, particularly among minorities, role of women healthcare leaders in improving quality of care for female patients.
  • Define cardiometabolic risk reduction and the newest diabetes treatment options in patients living with heart disease.
  • Identify approaches for patient selection in LAAC in women with AF and available options for oral anticoagulation.
  • Explain the range of therapeutic options in acute and chronic VTE ranging from systemic anticoagulation, catheter-directed thrombolysis, balloon pulmonary angioplasty, and pulmonary thromboendarterectomy.
  • Identify novel interventional valvular therapies available to patients with severe mitral or tricuspid regurgitation who are too high risk for surgery.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This educational activity is designed for clinical cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, primary care providers, residents and fellows, midlevel practitioners, nurses, technicians, administrators, and operations managers.

ACTIVITY EVALUATION

Evaluation by questionnaire will address content, presentation effectiveness, possible bias, and future educational needs.
